A family of polar foxes playing outside the den
A young fox with a dead gosling Polar foxes are the main predators of nests and young of the barnacle geese. Since 1990, there have been several years without any polar foxes in the area. Every year since 2000, there have been polar foxes and the last two years, there is an active den in town under the hut "London IV".

In 2004, most nests were predated by polar foxes and a polar bear. Also in the village, predation is high. Under one of the houses is a polar fox den with 6 puppies.
