Airport Longyearbyen Where are we?

We had planned to fly from Longyearbyen to Ny-Ålesund, but a thick fog is blocking our flight. Original departure: 9 June, 10:30. The earliest plane is sheduled on 11 June 10:00, so we decide to take a boat.

Main street Longyearbyen After two days waiting for good weather to fly to Ny-Ålesund, we take a cruise boat. The cruise is visiting Barentsburg too. You can compare the atmosphere in the Norwegian and the Rusiian town. Above and to the left are pictures from Longyearbyen. Below and to the right are pictures from Barentsburg.
