Het vliegveld van Longyearbyen ligt ongeveer 5 kilometer buiten het dorp.
Zoals op veel plekken op uithoeken van de aarde staat ook hier een wegwijzer. |

Naast het vliegveld ligt ons verblijf. Een speciaal hotel voor wetenschappers op doorreis.
Met het slechte weer gebruiken we de gastvrijheid van de universiteit in Longyearbyen: UNIS. |

| We had planned to fly from Longyearbyen to Ny-Ålesund, but a thick fog is blocking our flight. Original departure: 9 June, 10:30. The earliest plane is sheduled on 11 June 10:00,
so we decide to take a boat. |

After two days waiting for good weather to fly to Ny-Ålesund, we take a cruise boat.
The cruise is visiting Barentsburg too.
You can compare the atmosphere in the Norwegian and the Rusiian town.
